Hybrid & Online Teaching Institute

Description

The Hybrid & Online Teaching Institute is designed to help instructors prepare to teach in non-traditional academic environments.  The institute is grounded in a strong foundation of online course design principles and best practices. This is a hybrid learning opportunity with two face-to-face meetings and a week in between to develop and post course materials in an online environment.   

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate the criteria for creating exemplary online courses.
  • Explore strategies that emphasize active learning and student engagement in a hybrid or online environment.
  • Create a course map that aligns key outcomes, assessment strategies, and learning activities for their online course project.
  • Identify Blackboard and Blackboard compatible instructional technology tools appropriate to their specific course.
  • Design at least one module for a hybrid or online course.
