Welcome to my website.  In these pages, you will find information about me, particularly related to my journey through higher education.

I am an Associate Professor with tenure in the Educational Leadership program at Georgia Southern University.  My scholarship focuses on LGBTQ+ students in higher education, and I am passionate about helping people become better teachers.  I'm teaching two master's courses and one doctoral course for the Summer 2025 semester.  Engaging with students is my favorite part of being a faculty member.

I hold a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the Pennsylvania State University.  Using structural equation modeling, my dissertation empirically demonstrates a causal relationship of sexual identity disclosure to academic development for non-heterosexual college students.  In other words, being open about one's sexual identity has positive implications for psychological and higher education outcomes.
Having a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from New York University, I appreciate the formal training it takes to be a higher education professional.  I have dedicated my life's work to the field of higher education because I unequivocally value the role administrators have in student development.

Please take a look around my website.  Feel free to email me at [email protected] if I can help you.
