Designing Courses for Significant Learning: Part I
Constructing Effective Learning-Centered Outcomes

Description

What do you want to be most certain students learn in and remember from your course?  Participants in this workshop will use Integrated Course Design, a framework to articulate and incorporate deeper facets of learning into their course design (e.g., integration and learning to learn).  It is particularly useful as a guiding framework for course design and assessment.  This is the first workshop in a three-part course design series.  Participants are welcome to attend any or all of them.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognize the value of significant learning
  • Identify interrelated dimensions of significant learning
  • Construct learning outcomes to include significant learning components
