PERCEIVED LEVELS OF STRESS AND QUALITY OF WORK-LIFE OF FACULTY
This quantitative analysis studied the influence of perceived levels of stress on work-related quality of life among 133 full-time, tenure-system faculty members within the University System of Georgia. Statistically significant differences between the two latent variables based on demographic characteristics are also reported. Findings indicated that stress accounted for 63% of the variance in work-related quality of life. Additionally, females experienced significantly more stress than males. Faculty who were married reported less stress and a higher work-related quality of life than those who were not. Differences based on academic rank were not significant. Recommendations to alleviate stress are offered for consideration.
